Questions

How do I open a file with an extension I don't recognise?

Drop it on the box at the top of this page. The site reads the first bytes of the file to work out what it really is, whatever its name, and sends it to the right viewer.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Every viewer runs in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Once a viewer has been used it is kept on your device, so it keeps working without an internet connection.

Which old formats can it open?

Today: Lotus 1-2-3, dBASE, FoxPro and Clipper, Quattro Pro, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Works Database, Lotus Ami Pro, WordStar, Windows Help (WinHelp), Microsoft Publisher, WordPerfect, ClarisWorks and AppleWorks, MacWrite and classic Mac word processors, Windows Write, Microsoft HTML Help, Microsoft XPS Document Writer, LHA / LHarc, ARJ, Microsoft Cabinet, Unix compress, Commodore 64 disk images, Amiga disk images, WordPerfect Graphics, Macintosh PICT, RealPlayer, Adobe Flash, MIDI, Amiga and PC music trackers, Windows Metafile, Enhanced Metafile. Next: ZX Spectrum tape image, Shockwave movie, C64 SID tune.

Does it work on a Mac, Chromebook or phone?

Yes. Everything runs in the browser, so it works the same in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, iOS and Android.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limits on the number of files.
